Yesterday was the little known holiday "Call in sick cause you're well day"

I'm a huge fan of this concept and that is what I'm doing today. Actually I'm a little hungover but that's besides the point. As some of you may or may not know I am currently finishing up my masters degree. This leaves me with two papers to write in a matter of two weeks. I'm a little scared. What's more difficult is that work is insane. So I did what I had to do. I called in well to write my paper...and here I am writing my blog. Interesting how that works. No, actually I just finished up paper 1's first draft and I am taking a bit of a break from writing...well writing stuff I don't care about.

Anyway let's move away from my paper and just talk about the well deserved sick day. The best part about the sick day is that you get to sleep in. Period, end of story. You allow yourself a few more hours to just be in bed and relax. This is clearly why I am in such a zen like state right now.

For me the next part of my sick day is kind of odd. I'm a bit of a neat freak and my room is a total disaster area. I plan on using a good hour of my sick day for the sole purpose of cleaning my room. I swear to you that I simply do not have time to do something so simple as picking up the clothes off my floor. It's race race race all day and when I get home, all I want to do is go to bed. It's a sad life I lead, really it is.

Another wonderful thing to do on the sick day is for all you TIVO addicts out there. I do it up right. I watch every episode of the daily show that I've missed for weeks. I watch Will and Grace, the Apprentice and yes, even the Swan. With no commercials I can watch a weeks worth of television in a matter of a few hours. It's amazing and I feel so much more culturally up to date now.

The one thing I haven't done and refuse to do is get out of my PJs and shower. I reserve that for later when I go out and I am magically feeling ten times better. Tomorrow I must remember to occasionally cough and sniffle so everyone believes that I was sick.
